Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
By doing the preliminary task and then going on to do the main task I feel that the preliminary task has helped me a lot because it makes you have more understanding of what is needed for the main task. I feel that on the preliminary task we was not as organised and felt like we had run out of time to finish all of our blog work but learning from this I have organised myself more and managed my time more effectivley and this has helped me while doing the main task. The main task has a lot more elements to it and more work is needed to be done but I feel that this has made me more organized and got the work done.
I also feel that I had more knowledge about using the equipment such as the cameras and also using the edit suits I found that I knew a little more about how to work them and could get more involved than I was able to in the preliminary task. So overall I think that doing the preliminary task helped me alot more in my understanding in the main task.
I have also learnt how to present my work in a better way to make it more clear and look more presentable.
I also feel that my knowledge about different camera angles and shot sizes has got alot better because I can understand more about why we would do different takes of the same shot with different shot sizes because it helps us while we are editing and gives us more options in what we can include in our final sequence.
Overall, I feel that what I have most progressed on is my knowledge in different technical ways of going about producing the end product.

MAIN: Post 12.6: Question 6
This is a mood board of all of the different technologies that we have used throughout the filiming stages and they have all contributed in making the final opening sequence. Some of these pieces of euipment I havent used before such as the voice recorder but I have learnt how they are used and I am now quite confident in using them on my own.
The internet was a massive piece of technology that was used during this task because we had to do research and also update our blogs which were on an internet website. Overall the internet was the most used throughout this task and was very vital to finish our blogs and to show all of the work that we have done.
MAIN: Post 12.5: Question 5
How did you attract/ address your audience?
In the opening sequence I feel that the music would attract the audience because it makes the whole senario seem more intense because you are a bit unsure on where the story will lead. The titles in our opening sequence may attract the audience because of the particular font and font size and colour we used and they would catch the audiences eye and this may attract them to watching the film. Also the use of different camera angles and shot sizes would do this because it makes the film look more jumpy by cutting from one shot to a title and then to another shot and this makes it look more intense and would therefore create more of an audience.
These are screen grabs of our opening sequence which may atrract the audience.
MAIN: Post 12.4: Question 4
Who would be the audience for your meida prodcut?
I think that our media product would be aimed at a sophisticated audience because more people that like detective/mystery films would go and watch a film genre like we created. I also think that our media product would atrract more males over females due to the fact that more men are more interested in storylines of an investigation. I also think that our product would appeal to the audience ages of 16+ because the idea of the storyline is serious and I feel that this age range would understand it more than if they were any younger. I also feel that the young audience would be attracted to this type of film is because the characters are young and the young audience would be able to relate to this.
I think the main audience for our film would be males around the age of 35 because they are more likely to be interested in films with this particular genre.
<-- I have included a picture of a policeman and a teacher because I think that this genre of our film would attract and also relate back to their occupation. They may find it interesting because this is the storyline of what could be around them in their jobs. I also think the age of these people is a key factor because they are around the ages of 30 and this is the age that I thought would be interested in this particular genre of film.
--> I have shown two pictures of males of different ages and the reason to why I have shown this is because I think that our opening sequence and film would appeal to males. I have shown a younger male due to the fact that it is set around the age of people that attend school and it is within their social group and I have shown an older male because I feel that this is the sort of age of a male that would like this particular genre of film.

MAIN: Post 12.3: Question 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
The production company is the company that is in charge or making the film and they then pass it on to another company that would then go on to distribute the film. What I mean by distribute the film is that the company will buy the film off the producers and they will then distribute (market) it they will advertise the film and will have to find ways to make the film be known by the audience.
The company that I would want to distribute my film is Revolution Studios. Revolution Studios is an American film company and was founded in 2000 by a former chairman of Walt Disney Studios. The reason why I would want them to distribute my film is because they are in corporate synergy with other big film companies such as 20th Centry Fox and Sony Pictures and more. They have produced many films such as White Chicks, Daddy Day Care, 13 Going On 30 and the new Peter Pan. I feel that this company has alot of knowldge about making their films big and very successful and I feel that they could distribute our film in the same way.

MAIN: Post 12.2: Question 2
How does your media product represent particular social groups?
The media product that we have produced represents our characters in a particular social group and this social group is teenagers that go to school and this is represented by people of a young age outside a school and in groups. These characters are not of the age of having their own jobs so therefore they would be living at home with thier families, so they are at the social class of what their families are depending on their parent's jobs.
This image is showing the school gates and students walking out. This would appeal to the younger age group because they may feel like they can relate to these people and would be interested in what will happen.
The mise-en-scene of this opening sequence would also appeal to the younger audience because the characters are in school uniforms. They are not dressed as smart as they should be but this shows a typical student of this age.
This image of a man following the girl will bring the older audience of males to be interested because they would feel a sense of mystery happening.
Also the location may contribute because there is alot of trees and bushes around and this may be seen as a woods area.

In what ways does your media product product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
I was unable to upload our final opening sequence onto my blog so I have put a link to below to click on and it will show our opening sequence.

Task 1.1-
Directors Commentry on 'Suspect'
The storyline of the film is a police investigation of a girl going missing after school. We placed the stalker in front of the camera while following the girl out of the school and this created the genres that we were trying to create which was mystery/ crime/ drama. By putting the man in front of the camera gives a sense of all three of these genres. The storyline is simple by the way we have done it so it is easy to understand, we have also made it more clear about what is going on by putting a voice over of a police report about what has happened and that the fottage being shown was sent into the police station and then leads on to the rest of the film about a detective case of trying to find the girl that has gone missing.
The narrative enigma is not answered in the opening sequence about whether the girl is going to be found so for it to be answered they must watch the whole film to find out. As the film goes on it is a detective case to try and find the person who has taken the girl and as it tells us in the voice over the kidnapper is believed to have been involved in other crimes and is a threat. The storyline of this will unfold as the film goes on. So therefore, the opening sequence we have created and the feeling it gives off will make the audience carry on watching the rest of the film.
The camera angles and sizes that we have used are effective in the way the it gives of different feelings for the rest of the film. We have also placed titles in places where it goes from one shot to another. We found that watching someone walking and a camera following them for too long looses the audiences attenetion so we placed titles in certain places and we jumped to different parts so it would keep the attention from the audience. By doing this we saved alot of time on the opening sequence to add more titles and it does not allow the audience to get bored and loose interest too soon.
We have a non-diagetic light tempo soundtrack playing the whole way through the opening sequence and this is creating a mood where the audience is being drawn in to what is happening on the screen and creates the intensity of the sitiuation. There is also a voice over which is layered over the other soundtrack which we have used and this is building up more of an atmosphere.
The titles that we have added in our opening sequence all have a purpose to where they are placed in the sequence and for how long they last. We have placed them in parts where we want to go from different shot sizes, e.g at the beginning of the sequence it shows a long shot, then goes to a title and then it goes to a medium shot and this is a good way of going to different shot sizes and angles so we do not have to use jump cuts. The titles fade in and fade out and the font is not very big but is the right font to catch the audiences attention.
The mise-en-scene of the characters is a school uniform with a maroon blazer and black skirt, they are also holding school bags and this is creating the idea of them being school girls without having to question it, so the characters purpose is stated through their costumes.

I found this image from the website http://www.artofthetitle.com/ and this is an image board from the film 'Se7en' and they are screen shots taken from the opening sequence of this film. I have looked at this because the genre of the film is a mystery thriller and our genre had a part of mystery in it and I looked to see what kind of screen shots they used to show their opening sequence. This helped me make my image board with screen shots from our opening sequence and below is the one that I have made...
This is a table of nine screen shots that I have collected from our opening sequence 'Suspect'. I have chosen these pasific screen shots because I think that they give you an idea of what happens in the opening sequence and what the story line for the rest of the film will be about. I have shown two images of different titles, the first is showing the title of the film which is 'Suspect' and the second one is showing the company of the production of the film. I have then shown the other images because I feel that it makes it look intense about what the film is about and if someone has not seen the clip then these images would make people want to know more about it and would have more public interest about the film. Also some of the images such as the fourth and the sixth images have dark lighting and this is showing the mood that is being portrayed.
